Description

Lloyd presents meteorological observations and shares two tables, one of barometer, thermometer and hygrometer readings taken at the Port Louis Observatory for January 1836 to December 1838, and one relating to the winds and weather conditions recorded at Port Louis for the same period, with mean deductions.

Marked on back as 'Archives 9 July 1840'.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 4 of Abstracts of the Papers Printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London [later Proceedings of the Royal Society] as 'Second series of approximate deductions made from about 50,000 observations taken during the years 1836, 1837, and 1838, at the P. Louis Observatory, Mauritius, four times each day; namely, at 8 a.m., at noon, and at 4 and 8 p.m.'.
