Contains 17 papers submitted to the Royal Society but not published at the time of receipt. The papers are arranged alphabetically by author, with this volume containing papers written by authors whose names begin with letters D to K. Includes an index at the beginning of the volume. The papers are largely undated but the front matter indicates that they are all post-1800, although some papers seem to be from the late 18th century.

Two papers were published in the form in which they appear in this volume:
'Intensitas vis magneticæ terrestris ad mensuram absolutam revocata' by Karl Friedrich Gauss; and
'Account of a comet' by William Herschel.
