Description

Farquharson shares the readings of three thermometers kept at Alford, Aberdeenshire [Scotland]. Includes three tables of readings taken in the morning and evening of each day from 1 January 1833 to 31 December 1834, with means, high and low temperatures calculated for each month. Marked on back as 'archive'.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 3 of Abstracts of the Papers Printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London [later Proceedings of the Royal Society] as 'Copies of registers of the thermometer kept at Alford, Aberdeenshire'.
