Description

Davy shares observations on the common Thunny of the Mediterranean (Thynnus vulgaris, Cuv.), suggesting that it might be warm-blooded; this opinion is corroborated by the testimony of several fishermen. Annotated in pencil throughout. Contains one coloured figure showing anatomy of the fish. Marked as 'not to be printed'.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 3 of Abstracts of the Papers Printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London [later Proceedings of the Royal Society] as 'On the temperature of some fishes of the genus thunnus'.
