Unpublished letter, 'On the influence of the sun's rays on the magnetic needle' from William Snow Harris to Samuel Hunter Christie

Description

Harris writes to Christie regarding the latter's experiments on the effect of the sun's rays on the oscillation of the magnetic needle. He shares his observations as a result of his own experiments. Four tables are included in the text showing measurements of vibrations taken in air and in vacuum, and temperatures taken in the shade and in the sun. Annotations in pencil throughout.
