Cuyler and Emett describe the colonial settlements and agriculture present in the Eastern Division of the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope [modern South Africa], comprising Graaf Reynet [Graaff-Reinet], Somerset [Somerset West], Grahams Town [Makhanda], Albany [Cacadu], Uitenhage [Kariega], and George. Preceded by a covering letter from Cuyler and Emett to the Secretary of the Royal Society, introducing the Agricultural and Horticultural Society of the District of Uitenhage and its challenges.
