Description

Letter received by the Royal Society as a result of a statement, titled 'A Curious Fact' (see AP/10 for description). Boskins quotes the Royal Society's problem as it was printed in the Sheffield Mercury. She explains the phenomenon by relating the observed effect to the atmospheric pressure exerted on the top card.
