Description

Translated out of Spanish [by Edward Montagu, 1st Earl of Sandwich] and Improved & Communicated by the Royal Society [via John Evelyn]

The paper describes an early form of seed-drill and is headed Madrid, 5 September 1668. It is accompanied by an original drawing of the apparatus and an engraving of its fitting to a plough.

Prefaced by an introductory letter from John Evelyn, Sayes Court, 23 February 1669/70 to Viscount Brouncker, President of the Royal Society.
