Description

Hennell describes experiments carried out to determine the nature of the substance produced through the distillation of sulphuric acid and alcohol, typically called oil of wine. He determines that the substance is a previously undescribed compound of sulphuric acid, carbon, and hydrogen.

Corrections appear throughout in ink.
